First-time Setup

After your first login, take 5 minutes to set up these three things. They make the portal work better for you and keep your account secure.

1. Enable two-factor authentication

The portal supports authenticator-app 2FA. We strongly recommend turning it on.

  1. Open Settings (opens in a new tab) from the bottom of the left sidebar.
  2. Find the Two-factor authentication section.
  3. Click Enable 2FA.
  4. The portal shows a QR code. Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, etc.) and scan it.
  5. The app starts producing a six-digit code that rotates every 30 seconds.
  6. Enter the current code into the portal to confirm setup.
  7. Save the recovery codes the portal shows you somewhere safe (a password manager). If you lose your phone, these are the only way back in.

From then on, every login asks for your password and a fresh code from your authenticator app.

⚠️ Don't skip the recovery codes step. They're the only way back into your account if your phone is lost or wiped.

2. Complete your profile

Open Settings (opens in a new tab) and check that:

  • Your name is correct (this is what shows up on team rosters and notifications)
  • Your email address is the one you want to receive alerts on
  • Your time zone matches where you actually work (call timestamps display in this timezone)

Save any changes.

3. Configure notification preferences

Still in Settings, find the Notification preferences section. The portal can notify you about several kinds of events. Toggle on the ones you care about:

  • Call-volume spikes — get alerted when your call volume looks unusual
  • New invoices — know when a new invoice is issued
  • Past-due invoices — high-priority alert if a payment fails
  • Playbook changes — be aware when your playbook is updated
  • Team changes — when members are added or removed
  • (others, depending on your role)

You can change these any time. Defaults are sensible for most users.

4. Bookmark the portal
